NFPA 72 Initiating Devices and Notification Appliances

Course Description: This 4 contact hour course provides students with in-depth instruction on the spacing and location requirements of NFPA 72, Chapter 17, Initiating Devices and Chapter 18, Notification Appliances.

Course Topics Include:

    Overview of NFPA 72, Chapter 17, Initiating Devices

    Detector spacing and location exercises

    Overview of NFPA 72, Chapter 18, Notification Appliances

    Notification appliance spacing and location exercises

    Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance of initiating devices and notification appliances

 

Course Objectives: Upon completion of this course, the qualified individual will have a greater understanding of the requirements for spacing, location, and use of alarm-initiating devices, supervisory-initiating devices, and notification appliances.  In addition, the student will gain knowledge on how to properly inspect and test the devices and appliances, as well as documenting inspections and tests.
